Getting seasoned.....

Seasons of waiting are designed to prepare you, stretch your faith, and get you ready for everything that's coming next. -Mandy Hale

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8  To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to gain, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to throw away; a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

Though this an unpleasant process, it is necessary. We must constantly remind ourselves that setbacks are setups for comebacks. Trust God, know that HE IS! Know that IT WILL come to pass. Be not dismayed for everything has it's place in time.

As with all things, have patience..... but first with yourself.

"Be patient. A relationship before its time would only distract you from fulfilling your big and beautiful destiny." -Mandy Hale

Though this is true, it often times doesn't make you feel better.
Apparently I'm feeling very liberal today and sharing my feelings.....
I've been single for quite some time, and sometimes it's a choice, sometimes, I lose interest in the suitor and other times, it just is what it is....
We often hope to find that one person to make it worth while....
But worth while takes development and PATIENCE!!!!!!!
I have faith that my singleness will end soon and permanently, but getting there is a JOURNEY!
For some unknown reason, you dig through alot of dookie on the road to love....
The liars, cheats, insecure, and ambitionless are all apart of the bigger picture LOL....
Determined to make it, I press on! (SINGLE for now :-()
I plan to be awed and anxiously await the day .....

Got my shovel and Yes I am still diggin!

Self Appreciation.

If you don't see your worth, you'll always choose people who don't see it either. When your self esteem rises, your life follows. -Mandy Hale

I've kissed enough toads to know I hate the taste of slime......
I love and love hard, and that also has allowed me to be heartbroken a time or two.
Often times we compromise who we are, what we believe in the name of a "bigger" picture.
A friend once told me, that you have to teach people how to treat you, value yourself more and the rest will follow. It took a while to grasp this concept, and it's one that I continue to work on.
We must never devalue ourselves to be accepted by anyone. Those who matter won't mind and those mind wont matter. In the battle to be comfortable in our own skins, we often seek the need to be understood.
Those who think outside the box, are usually the ones who are made fun of and ridiculed for having to courage to be what they like, while those who choose to be accepted by the norm do the finger poking.
Love yourself first, and give others permission to do the same.

Accept what is....

Accept what is, let go of what was and have faith in what will be. -Sonia Ricotti

Often times we fight for control of situations and wear ourselves out yielding nothing.
Changing nothing! Making a mess as we go!....
Trust God and believe in the process, it all works out in the end.

Keep it pushin!

"Don't stress. Do your best. Forget the rest."

My tolerance for foolishness is low and my expectations are high.
Everyone is extraordinary until the prove themselves to be otherwise.
We have to stop highlighting what we think we ought to be and become more comfortable in our skins.
Stop selling tickets to a show, and be authentically you....

Happy Mother's Day!

I'm wrote this poem for my mom for Mother's day....
I'm not don't do cards too often, I usually write a poem and attach it to my gift.
My mom's name is Wanda (Wonderwoman)

Wonder Woman

Its funny how as teenagers
Moms were overgrown idiots
Whose primary goal is to embarrass us
And talk to us about what we’ve heard at school
God forbid she attempts to give us tools
So we’d be equipped for survival and life
I saw her as two wives
One happy and the other miserable
And it made her so believable
But remarkable
To see her sacrifice time, money, self and even her health
At the expense of our ungrateful, spoiled, greed
Her every day deeds were often overseen
Because it was expected
Her needs always neglected
Even when she was tired we were still
Connected, and she still did the mama thing
Cause she loved us with all she had
Even if she was mad
She held us close and let us go
All at the same time
She trusted her judgment and
Prayed for direction in leading us
She expressed affection
After careful inspection
She advocated correction
If her orders were defied
To show us cause and effect
She said
Never let a defect like being fatherless
Hinder your potential
Mark your mistakes with initials to remember the
lesson
Know that lunch money is a blessing
Not a demand
Her wishes became commands
That we lived to grant
Cause our mom was superhero
And we knew it, and we were
Given options
To grow up, slow up
Break up and fix up
But above all to rise up
Daily she reminded us that
Life aint always peachy’
I’m always here if you need
You and brother
All you have is each other
Never split up because of another or money
No matter how bad it looks
Something is always funny
Never settle for less than the best
Because you get lonely
Never sacrifice yourself & sanity for love
Because love has love
And doesn’t need that much
Don’t lean on your issues like a crutch
You have private places you one should touch
And if they do you tell me
She always supported our dreams
Been down for the team &
Comforted the players if they lost
And reminded them that the cost
Of losing is an afforded luxury
When we get tired of winning
Thick friends start thinning
Coming few and far between
Never let a man be king
If you aren’t his queen
Always have what you need
And some of what you want
You don’t have to flaunt to be seen
You don’t have to be sleep to have dreams
Stand for something or you’ll fall for anything
Fight for what you believe in
Or you’ll die in vain
Sunshine is more beautiful after the rain
Anything worth having costs a little pain
Nothing lost is nothing gained
Be yourself & never doubt your ability
Keep God first along with humility
You are above none and neither are you less
Give everything you do your best
Dollar signs don’t measure success
Character does
Dollar just measures materials
And though they are nice to have
They can dwindle fast
Put your faith in things that last
Look back at your past
And make peace with it
Continue to move forward
Life owes you no awards
You get rewards
For hard work and good deeds
Plant good seeds and grow fruitful trees
That way you never starve
It’s your own path you must carve
But do it with a plan
And options of a few doors
And she had no clue
The more she talked
The more I grew
The more she talked the more I listened
But mostly I paid attention
Made better decisions because of her
A book of lessons
I could look back and refer too
She never sheltered me from truth
Regardless how much it hurt
She always made me see my worth
Even when I didn’t want too
And Ill always be her #1 fan
Most kids watched her on TV
But I played in her band
She’s really my Mama
But incognito
I think she’s really Wonderwoman

Patience is a virtue!

You are not just waiting in vain. There is a purpose behind every delay.

When I master this, I'll be truly amazing!
I get so flustered, when I have to wait on something..... LAWD JEEZUS!!!!!!!!!!!
Patience is not my gifting, but I'm definitely learning to become friends with it.
The one thing I remember is the day that patience saved my life!!!!

I was driving to Louisiana, for my great-grandmothers birthday party.
I caught a "rabbit"( that's the person will speed and get the ticket on the highway), they were rolling!
They had to be going about 90, so I was going about 85.
All of a sudden I had to tinkle so badly, I had to get off the highway to go.
While thinking the whole time.... I'm going to lose my "rabbit"!
But I got off and went and hopped right back on the road, I was off the road for a total of 6 minutes.....
I start speeding trying to catch them and then I see this big fireball explosion.
This is not even 5 miles up the road, and I'm thinking, I sure hope they made it.
Instantly I stopped/slowed down/pulled over/ I had to get it together.....
I arrive at the scene, there was someone in the street and someone had been pulled out of the vehicle.
I cried the whole way to Louisiana, and I kept checking on the accident the whole weekend.
After the reunion, I drove to Arkansas to hangout with my family for a more days.
Some friends and I went to dinner and one of them told me to call and check on another friend because she had lost her best friend in a car accident on Friday.... she begins to tell me what happened, I'm literally filling in her sentences with the details..... I found out I knew that whole family and they all perished in an accident. It really hit home, really hard and taught me a valuable lesson, patience.
God has more for me, he made a provision to spare my life.....
He watches sparrows, I know he sees me!!!!

Gratefully grabbing my shovel, continuing the digging!

Finding the Dream

Figure out what makes you happy and do more of it. Figure out what doesn't, and do less of it. -Mandy Hale

The first step to living your dream is to know what makes you happy.
What's the one thing that you can't live without doing?
My dreams are to act, write and cook.
The world is a stage and I am forever on camera.... (Speak things into existance)
Food is where my love lives, it's my love language, it's how I communicate.
I'm sure that sounds odd, but I live for each opportunity to cook, and love a new person.
Part of my soul lives in every dish that I prepare, it's constantly replenishing and growing.
I want to gain new talents to love more, love better anyone in my realm.
Life is about purpose, pursuit and promise.
God gives us all gifts, find what yours are and make them work in your favor.
When you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life.
I'm pursuing my cooking classes again, I look forward to the summer camp where I get to show people my talent, my passion and expose them to something greater.
This is a part of a bigger picture.....

Every Soul has a Rose....

A certain man planted a rose and watered it faithfully and before it blossomed, he examined it. He saw the bud that would soon blossom, but noticed thorns upon the stem and he thought, “How can any beautiful flower come from a plant burdened with so many sharp thorns?” Saddened by this thought, he neglected to water the rose, and just before it was ready to bloom… it died.

The Moral: So it is with many people. Within every soul there is a rose. The good qualities planted in us at birth, grow amid the thorns of our faults. Many of us look at ourselves and see only the thorns, the defects. We despair, thinking that nothing good can possibly come from us. We neglect to water the good within us, and eventually it dies. We never realize our potential. Some people do not see the rose within themselves; someone else must show it to them. One of the greatest gifts a person can possess is to be able to reach past the thorns of another, and find the rose within them. This is one of the characteristic of love… to look at a person, know their true faults and accepting that person into your life… all the while recognizing the nobility in their soul. Help others to realize they can overcome their faults. If we show them the “rose” within themselves, they will conquer their thorns.
Only then will they blossom many times over.

Coming into your own.....

The discomfort goes away soon, and that pain is forgotten after the birth.
The prize is giving birth to something that will continue to grow.....
Trust God and know that he is bringing you into something better.
